About the Clatskanie Veterans Memorial Committee:    The charge of this committee is to construct a memorial wall for the deceased veterans in the Clatskanie area, purchase granite for this wall, and have the names of deceased veterans engraved in the granite.    This committee is a joint effort of the Clatskanie VFW Post 2994 and the Clatskanie American Legion Post 68. Together we have been able to raise enough money through fund raisers and donations to construct our wall, purchase the granite for the upper part of our wall, and have the names of twenty nine veterans who were killed or missing in action engraved in the granite.  With the pending names to be engraved and purchasing granite, we need an estimated $13,000 to finish.    We veterans of Clatskanie American Legion and VFW are proud to offer our community a place to come to honor and pay respects to our deceased veterans.  Thanks to Job Corps we have placed benches around our memorial, and have more benches for the other side of the wall on the way.
